Peter Lougheed, the 10th premier of Alberta serving from 1971-1985, has passed away at the age of 84.

I know there is so much more that I could have written, but somehow that seemed the most fitting.
For my life anyways, as a life long Albertan I doubt there is another politician who has had a greater influence on my life in almost every aspect than Peter Lougheed has. He built my Alberta and has shaped my children's.

Lougheed was so powerful it is sad he was followed by 4 pipsqueaks. Getty, Klein, Stelmach and Redford all tarnished his great legacy.
